Field Work #3
Your third assignment is to study the structure of the Baraboo, Wisconsin region. This region is known for the "Baraboo Syncline", which you will be mapping. The formation is made up primarily of the Baraboo Quartzite. For this assignment, you will use the topographic map of Baraboo (located on the left. The larger version that is to be used for drawing the cross section will be located in the classroom), knowledge of the subsurface, and strike/dip data to draw a geologic cross section of the Baraboo syncline. The cross section is to be made using large graph paper (provided in class).
